Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Mohua Print, operated by Neonpale Limited, collects, uses, stores and shares your personal information, in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. It covers the Mohua Print service.

1. What we collect

The photo you upload.
Your name, email address and phone number.
Your order details, and your delivery address if you choose post.
Any note you add to your order.
Basic technical information needed to run the website securely.

Your payment is handled directly by Stripe. We receive confirmation that you paid and a record of the amount, but we do not see or store your card number.

2. Why we collect it

We collect this information for one main purpose: to process and fulfil your print order, and to contact you about it (for example, to confirm pickup, arrange posting, or check a detail of your photo). We also use uploaded images to carry out a content-safety check, and we may use your information where we are required to by law. We do not use your details for marketing without your consent.

3. Your photo

We store your photo in Cloudflare R2 only to fulfil your order. The preview and display copies we generate are stripped of EXIF metadata, including location. Your original file is kept, accessible only to us, purely so we can produce a faithful print, and we review each image by hand, both to print it well and to check it complies with our terms. We delete your photo (original and copies) automatically 30 days after your order is completed.

4. Automated content check

To help keep illegal and inappropriate content off the service, each uploaded image is sent to Anthropic’s API for an automated content classification before printing. This is a content-safety check only; the image is not used to train models or for any other purpose.

5. Service providers, and storage outside New Zealand

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run Mohua Print, who handle your information on our behalf and only on our instructions:

Stripe: payment processing.
Cloudflare: website hosting and secure file storage (R2).
Supabase: the database that holds your order and customer details (name, email, phone, delivery address).
Resend: sending order emails.
Anthropic: the automated content check described above.

Some of these providers store or process information on servers outside New Zealand. They act as our processors and do not use your information for their own purposes; we remain responsible for it, and we take reasonable steps to ensure it is protected to a standard comparable to the New Zealand Privacy Act.

6. Disclosure required by law

We may disclose content or information to the relevant New Zealand authorities where we are required to by law, including in relation to illegal or objectionable content.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your photo only until 30 days after your order is completed, then delete it. We keep order and payment records for as long as we need them to run the business and to meet our legal obligations (for example, Inland Revenue requires business records to be kept for seven years).

8. Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Contact christoph@mohuaprint.nz and we’ll help. If you’re not satisfied with how we’ve handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

9. Security and privacy breaches

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including secure storage and limited access. If a privacy breach happens that is likely to cause serious harm, we will notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner and the people affected, as the Privacy Act requires.

10. Children

Mohua Print is intended for adults placing orders. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children, and we take extra care with any information that may relate to a child.

11. Cookies and the website

We use only the cookies and similar technology needed to run the site and keep it secure and working (for example, to remember your cart). We don’t use them for advertising.
